Each item comes with an info card which includes the various uses and how it helps your child's development and growth. We also include information on the local woodworkers and small businesses who created the items so that you can try before you buy, reduce watse and support local!

Our job as parents and caregivers is to support our children in their curiosity and learning. This means watching, noticing and reacting as they master materials and search for the next step!
Observation vs Judgement
Observations help us to figure out where our child is, and how we can help them to where they are going.
We need to do this without judgement. Good observations are neutral, unbiased and simple. They give us information to form conclusions at a later time.
Prepare the Environment
Think of the Prepared Environment as a teacher, a safe and comfortable space where the child can be at ease as they navigate play and self directed learning.
The Prepared Environment is meant for the child. Everything in reach, at their level, and child sized.

Provide Freedom within Limits
Children need freedom.Freedom to explore, to experiment, to work through things at their own pace.
It is important that we provide this freedom with clear and consistent boundaries, and in a safe environment, so that they may investigate, learn and grow.
The freedom to explore nature, inside, outside and to play helps teach them self regulation.

I was really excited to work with Bambini Box because I thought the concept of a toy rental box would fit our family’s lifestyle so well, and I have not been disappointed! It is a fantastic option for anyone, but I think the benefits are especially noticeable if you live in a small space. You don’t have to store the toys when they’re out of rotation because you simply swap for a new set. You can try before you buy, and make sure you’ll get lots of use out of something before investing. You also are introduced to beautiful products created by amazing local makers. I’ve been able to observe Hazel with the materials and take note of what she gravitates towards that I might purchase for her to have and use on a regular basis. Also the amount of independent play she’s done this month thanks to a brand new set of open ended toys. I’m sure solo parenting a toddler and a newborn from day one (no parental leave for law students) will be wild but I feel somewhat more relaxed knowing I don’t have to worry about planning a new toy rotation or activities for Hazel next month, because a brand new box will show up at our door just a few days before baby is due.

Everything was extremely well thought out and beautifully presented. What we love most is we don’t have to think about toy rotation. Every item is specifically chosen for your child’s age, to help them develop age-appropriate skills. These boxes also showcase so many local makers which is incredible. We love supporting local so this feels like a double win! The tutorials provided with the box was also very helpful for making sure we get the most out of each toy! The owners of this company were also extremely wonderful to work with. They are very knowledgeable and are more than happy to answer any questions regarding the toys. My 2.5 year old and I reviewed one of the toy rental boxes. The toys are unique , handcrafted with care and your child’s development and attention span is in mind. We enjoyed the items and it was great to not have to invest in each individual piece ourselves. Thank you!

Bambini Box has been such a wonderful addition to our playroom! My 13 month old daughter has enjoyed the Southern Rockhopper Penguin Box so much that we have decided to extend the rental! We love that the toys are all developmentally appropriate for her age and based on Montessori principles - challenging her to learn new skills and providing hours of fun! All of the toys are extremely high quality and made from natural materials by talented local makers. We look forward to enjoying Bambini Box for years to come!

Bambini Box is the perfect service for so many situations! As someone with multiple children of differing developmental strengths and interests, it was amazing to see how they gravitated towards different products, used them in newly imagined ways, and which items they went back to over and over again! The quality easily stood up to the challenge of multiple daycare children using them constantly, but kept all the kids entertained! The process was easy, a great length of time, and gave me the perfect ideas for gifts for my kids (and new amazing local businesses to follow and support!). I would recommend Bambini Box to anyone and everyone!
